Schwinn 754
This was my daily, an all aluminum speed machine, beat well, but well loved. Produced circa 1994, I got this bad boy at my friends garage sale, for 50 bucks. Unreal good deal. (Although they did find it in a trash bin.)
Besides stripping the nicely blue annodized frame of 813 stickers, most of my modifications were superficial, and handled by Ian (then at Big Swinging Bycycles, SF): removal of the aero-bar kit, some proper Cinelli bars, new ugly-ass rap, a much nicer Italian Fizik seat and, of course, a bottle cage.
As an all aluminum daily, this was by far my favorite all purpose bicycle; San Francisco is quite a bumpy town, so the aluminum provided a bit of "built in" shock absorbtion, while also keeping the total weight down. (It was so light that it could easily held up at arms length.) I must say, i really enjoyed this bike; notice the rear bridge detail- it, quite smoothly, molds into one tube. The same, smooth transition happens at almost every joint.
